Transit Oriented Communities Intern
Port Authority is seeking a Transit Oriented Communities Intern, for a one year term at $15.00 an hour, in-person at our Downtown Pittsburgh location, at 49 hours a week, to support transit-oriented development, multimodal planning, stakeholder relations, best practice research, and other types of projects to advance Port Authority’s Transit-Oriented Communities work plan.
Essential Functions
• Assists with various activities, including project development, research, analysis, and implementation. • Assists with ongoing progress of transit-oriented development and other place-based planning efforts. • Assists with analysis and GIS work for transit-oriented development, multimodal planning, or other projects as needed. • Assists with the review and preparation of public materials. • Works with Port Authority staff to respond to requests for information.

Job Requirements
• A college degree or be enrolled in a college degree program in planning, urban design, architecture, information sciences, engineering, or a related field of study. A master’s candidate is preferred. • Ability to use GIS software, Microsoft software, and the internet. • Ability to conduct thorough and organized research. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

Preferred Attributes
• Experience in urban planning, community engagement, engineering, or real estate. • Ability to use Adobe Creative Cloud software.
