Pittsburgh Regional Transit is seeking a signalman to perform a variety of assignments related to signaling systems. This includes installing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and performing scheduled maintenance on the rail signals, electrical switches and traffic signa.

Essential Functions

• Installs, maintains, repairs, cleans, inspects and tests signal equipment, including, but not limited to: AC/CD relays, track circuits, switch machines, road crossing systems, training to wayside equipment, trip stop equipment, routing equipment, Genesis System, emergency and standby equipment, power distribution and snow melter equipment. • Installs, maintains, repairs, cleans, inspects and tests traffic signals. • Performs preventive maintenance and monitors signal conditions. • Troubleshoots, adjusts and tests signal equipment, including periodic functional tests.

Job Requirements

• Must complete the apprentice training requirements for this position. • Must possess a Class ‘C” PA Driver’s License. • Must obtain and maintain a valid Class “B” PA Driver’s License within ninety (90) working days.
